Katharina has been elected president of the University.
At its meeting on 17 May 2023, the Senate formally elected Katharina Fromm as Rector of the University of Fribourg. It was proposed and aboded by the Senate one Plenary Assembly on April 4, at which the Ordinary Professor at the Chair in Inorganic Chemistry obtained a majority of votes. After ratification by the Council of State, Katharina Fromm will succeed Astrid Epiney (02/2024) and become the second woman to head the alma mater.
